Stars & Stripes

It's not often that I get the opportunity to ride around DC (my fav city) on a boat, with friends, and dance the night away.

So I jumped at the chance to celebrate a friend's birthday, watch the stars, and wear stripes. It was quite a time.

As I mentioned here crop tops are very versatile. Shout out to this cropped top for making back-to-back appearances. We're all about getting the most out of your closet. I've also wore a very similar outfit here.

Rocking a cropped top can have its challenges especially for those of us that aren't always happy with our mid-section. As promised, here are 3 quick tips:

1. Wear it with a high-waisted bottom

Depending on your body type a high-waisted bottom can help you rock the trend while keeping most of your mid-section covered. I wore this skirt high on my waist, to accomplish this effect.

2. Wear a tank top

This one may seem like a stretch, but if you really don't want your mid-section exposed and still want try this trend, this is a great compromise. Simply wear a tank top under your cropped top.

3. Just give it a shot

I've seen women of all shapes and sizes pull of a cropped top, just find the one that works best with your body type. Crop tops can be found almost anywhere, and they usually cost next to nothing. They are the perfect trend to play with. GO FOR IT!

Y'all already know I'm obsessed with this skirt...I'm not even going to go there.
