Monday Inspiration: Sisterhood

We're back!! Sorry for the two week hiatus, more on that later. Yesterday, I had a great talk with one of my sisters on sisterhood. Today, I felt compelled to share some inspiration on the same topic.

“Our melanin will always make us marvelous... Just imagine what that sea of sisterhood would look like. Magic!” ― Alexandra Elle

She craves men but women are her most abiding lovers. Her friends are her soul mates, all the love without the consumption of sex and romance, a different kind of intimacy. Women make love by admiring each other, studying and envying each other and mixing it all up in a pot of devotion. ― G.G. Renee Hill, The Beautiful Disruption

“It was not just friendship that we are attached to each other, it was sisterhood that made that bonding between us, but now that love doesn't exist anymore as people changes with time- that's reality.” ― Debolina

“Sweet, crazy conversations full of half sentences, daydreams and misunderstandings more thrilling than understanding could ever be.” ― Toni Morrison, Beloved

Sisterhood is powerful. ~Robin Morgan

Sisters don't need words. They have perfected a language of snarls and smiles and frowns and winks - expressions of shocked surprise and incredulity and disbelief. Sniffs and snorts and gasps and sighs - that can undermine any tale you're telling. ~Pam Brown

One of the best things about being an adult is the realization that you can share with your sister and still have plenty for yourself. ~Betsy Cohen

“She is a friend of my mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order.” ― Toni Morrison, Beloved

A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves and very much not ourselves - a special kind of double. -- Toni Morrison

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child. -- Barbara Alpert

Hope you're inspired to draw nearer to your sisters.
